ECMO Training Program February 16-17/March 9-10, 2023
Learner Disclosures
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) provides prolonged respiratory and cardiac support to adult patients whose lungs and heart are too diseased or damaged to function normally on their own.
This training is for those interested in managing patients requiring ECMO therapy in the acute care setting. The course is broken into two parts. Two days of didactic training and Two days of in person simulation. The didactic only learners will be able to live chat during the program and fully participate in the Q&A sessions. The full Four-day program is limited to twelve (12) learners. These Learners will do their didactic training through a separate portal, be required to verbally interact, and travel to The Woodlands, TX at the designated time to attend the Two-day simulation program. Full program Learners will be required to successfully complete an in person written exam. A passing score is 80%. Instructors are experienced content experts and will feature didactic and hands-on clinical modules based upon the ELSO Standards and Guidelines. Training participants will gain the skills and knowledge necessary for managing the adult populations requiring Veno-Veno (V-V) and Veno-Arterial (V-A) ECMO.
The Full Program is designed to prepare and make eligible the Learner to sit for the ELSO Adult ECMO Specialist exam. It is the Learners’ responsibility to gain the bedside clinical hours required by ELSO for eligibility to sit for the ELSO Adult ECMO Specialist exam. MediWeb does not offer, provide, nor promise to provide any real world, in person, direct patient care management or exposure to any Learner
